Nature play supports learning across all strands of Ministry of Education (2017) Te Whāriki: New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum. In particular, it supports the Exploration strand, where children learn strategies for active exploration, thinking and reasoning. Children also develop working theories for making sense of the natural, social, physical and material worlds. At LBLC we provide plenty of opportunities for our children to connect with nature regularly. We have a special nature corner, where we provide natural resources and loose parts for our children to explore and learn. Moreover at LBLC we have outdoor vegetable garden, our children participate in gardening with their teachers. They water the garden, choose plants for each seasons, get to help teachers to do planting and finally harvesting them to enjoy it together during our meal time.
